The aim of the competition was to get children across the country mark making. The classes used a variety of techniques to create their monsters, including using paint dabbers, cotton buds and confetti. Both class entries were so amazing that they have been chosen to be published in the Young Writers 2026 book!

This activity supports children’s rights to express themselves creatively (Article 13), develop their talents through education (Articles 28 & 29), and take part in cultural and creative activities (Article 31).
