Kingsbury Café's New Term Menu

Learners at Kingsbury Academy have been involved in the Café Enterprise Project. They have been busy preparing and promoting this term's exciting menu. The project helps learners develop practical food preparation, teamwork and workplace skills.

Good Hygiene is an important part of working in the café, including washing hands and wearing hair nets.

This term's menu includes:

Garlic Bread

Veg Chilli Wrap

Classic Toasty

Learners have been involved in a range of activities, including:

Spreading garlic butter onto bread ready for baking.

Stirring food and preparing ingredients.

Grating cheese for toasties and other menu items.

Spreading bread and adding toppings.

Working on packaging products ready for customers.

Loading the dishwasher and helping to keep the kitchen clean and organised.

By taking part in every stage of the café, learners are developing valuable skills in food preparation, hygiene, responsibility and teamwork. The enterprise project, selling food to staff, provides real-life experiences that build confidence and independence.

The Kingsbury Café enterprise project supports children's rights, helping learners develop practical skills and confidence. Learners also work together as a team, and everyone can participate and develop new skills.

Children learn important food hygiene skills. This supports children’s right to health and wellbeing (Article 24) and their right to develop skills and abilities through education (Article 29
