Dear Parents/Carers,

We sincerely hope you and your family are well; these are challenging times and we all hope we can return to some modicum of normality sooner rather than later. Your messages of support are gratefully appreciated.

We continue to operate on a partial closure; focusing predominantly on those children identified through government guidance. We welcome your continued patience and we are doing everything we can to remain open. Children who are identified as eligible for Free School Meals will be receiving supermarket vouchers through the post; if you do not receive your vouchers, please call us urgently to discuss. Please continue to refer to our website for updates on activities you can complete at home with your children.

On a different matter, we are pleased to confirm that the transition of Three Spires Academy from the RNIB to Thrive Education Partnership has been completed; these are exciting times for the academy moving forwards. We will provide further details on governance and structure in the coming days ahead.

As you are aware, we recently consulted with all stakeholders regarding the possibility of changing the school name; the overwhelming response supported this decision. Over the past few weeks, we have collated a range of suggestions and we can confirm that as of the 1st April 2020, RNIB Three Spires School will change to Kingsbury Academy. This will involve the launch of a new website and the production of new school uniform; further details will follow shortly. We can confirm that existing pupils will be issued with an element of new school uniform free of charge for the next academic year.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff for their ongoing commitment, dedication and enthusiasm during these testing times. May we also thank the outgoing Specialist Learning Trust who have committed their time over a number of years to help support the school and in particular, Carl Underhill (Chair of Trustees) who has volunteered much of his personal time to help facilitate this transition.

We are here to support you all.

Please do not hesitate to contact us over the coming weeks.

Best wishes,

Richard Chapman – Executive Head Teacher

Craig Bennett – Head Teacher
